Originally from the Wirral, I left school with only a handful of qualifications and attended a performing arts course. Here I discovered the joys of sound engineering, boys, beer and beer (well, Newcastle Brown Ale and Grolsh). I pursued the dream after leaving with a solitary A level in music, and trained as a sound engineer in a 24 track analogue recording studio. This was closely followed by several years as a struggling freelancer, with tours in Denmark and the ‘grand’ north of England. Fed up with sexism and late nights, I returned to education, moved to St Helens and studied for a BTEC in Media. I passed with flying colours, and chose Trinity and All Saints College, part of Leeds University, as my home for the next few years. After graduating with a 2:1 in Media with Communication and Cultural Studies. I taught at the university, passing on my knowledge of studio recording to undergraduates, and radio editing to the postgraduates. A couple of years, some more teaching and a PGCE later, I arrived in Sutton to begin a new life here in the media department.
Although a mild mannered young lady enjoying reading and growing bonsai, don’t be fooled! I spend the rest of my spare time playing games like Resident Evil and The Suffering, and have a rather disturbing taste in films.
